Corruption and scandals

  • Judiciary Act. In June 2026 Club Z (author Plamena Ignatova) wrote that Aleksandra Valcheva is "named as the author of almost all PB [Progressive Bulgaria] proposals for changes to the Judicial System Act" and "did not once take the floor to explain, defend or comment" on her own or others' texts (our translation). According to the same article, anonymous proposals building on Valcheva's tabled amendments were handed out to MPs in the legal affairs committee, and the governing majority did not explain who authored the anonymous amendments. — Club Z, 19.06.2026
