Corruption and scandals
- Leaving We Continue the Change. On Facebook he accused the party leadership of betrayal because the Sofia Province branch would not accept a list leader from Democratic Bulgaria, 24 Chasa writes. Petko Petkov, father of Kiril Petkov, replied on his own profile: "Dunchev, why did you forget the message you sent to Kiril before Panorama? Are these your principles? Bravo!" According to bTV News, the rift with his fellow party members began when he did not head the PP and DB coalition list in the province, and he then did not make the list of candidates at all; announcing the split, he told the channel that "this cause of protecting nature and the forests is above any party and political interests" (our translation). — 24 Chasa, 19.02.2023, bTV News, 07.03.2023
Other
- Position on corruption in government. As lead candidate of Green Movement in constituency 26 (Sofia Province) and constituency 1 (Blagoevgrad) he said in a BNT interview, relayed on the party's website, that he is now fighting "the corrupt government that is taking over the National Assembly" (our translation). In his view, increased firewood logging, long-term logging concessions and political purges in the style of DPS and GERB also occurred under PP-DB governments. — Green Movement, 27.05.2024
