Russia
- Ukraine. On 1 April 2026, in a press release of the party Movement Yes, Bulgaria published by BTA, Simidchiev "categorically rejected the thesis that support for Ukraine drags Bulgaria into war" (our translation). He describes the agreement signed in Ukraine by caretaker Prime Minister Gyurov as implementing a 2023 decision of parliament. — BTA, 01.04.2026
Corruption and scandals
- The complaint. In January 2022 a group of doctors from a Centre for Integrative Medicine filed a complaint with the ethics commissions of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BLS) against Aleksandar Simidchiev and BLS chair Ivan Madzharov. They claim that Simidchiev presents "untrue" data "unsupported by facts" about COVID-19 and insults colleagues, call him a "Covid-vaccination influencer" (our translation), and seek disciplinary and criminal liability for him. The complainants are doctors holding the opposite position on COVID-19 and the vaccines; the article contains no reply from Simidchiev. — News.bg, 24.01.2022
- Fake ads. In February 2023 24 Chasa reported that in recent months the pulmonologist Simidchiev had "featured in several fake online advertisements for medicines and food supplements" (our translation); one of them claimed he offers a new method of vision correction without surgery, although he is not an ophthalmologist. He told his patients: "If you see an advertisement of mine on Facebook, please do not believe it, because I do not advertise on Facebook" (our translation). — 24 Chasa, 04.02.2023
