• Foreign agents. The culture and media committee, chaired by Yanchev, rejected Vazrazhdane's bill on registering "foreign agents" with six votes against, two for and two abstentions. Mediapool calls Vazrazhdane "the pro-Russian party" (our translation); the article does not say how Yanchev himself voted. — Mediapool, 19.09.2024

Corruption and scandals

• The NPMG case. According to the position of NPMG (the National Natural Science and Mathematics High School), cited by RFE/RL Bulgaria, MP Angel Yanchev (Vazrazhdane) was visited at his reception hours by a pupil's mother, then phoned the director before the boy's last retake exam, refused a meeting at the school and "hints that the director has ways to solve the problem" (our translation); according to the school, director Ushagelov felt pressured. NPMG is a party to the dispute: it has sued the mother. Yanchev told RFE/RL only "Send your questions to our press office" (our translation); Vazrazhdane's press office had not replied by the time the article was finished. — RFE/RL Bulgaria, 11.10.2024
• The foundation. In 2015 Yanchev took part in the America for Bulgaria Foundation's project for school directors, "Academy for Young Leaders", as one of 30 selected, while director of SOU "Vela Blagoeva" in Veliko Tarnovo; he was not among the 15 who continued in New York. The information was made public by PP-DB MP Yavor Bozhankov; the foundation is among the organisations Vazrazhdane denounces. Yanchev did not deny taking part and wrote on Facebook: "But I saw what they are like from the inside - training through suggestion and an attempt to take over the Bulgarian education system" (our translation). — Mediapool, 26.08.2024
