Corruption and scandals
- Candidacy to chair the Dossier Commission. The proposal that Todorov should head the commission on the files of the former ДС drew discontent on both the left and the right. President Румен Радев called the candidacy a „mockery of the past and of Bulgarian society“ (our translation). БСП MPs planned not to take part in electing new members of the commission if he was the candidate for chair. Движение Да България, Демократи за силна България, Зелените, Български земеделски народен съюз and ДЕОС saw the candidacy as a coordinated attack by ГЕРБ and БСП to abolish the commission. 168 Часа writes that he probably withdrew his candidacy because of this crossfire. — 168 Chasa, 05.10.2017
