  • The vote-buying signal. On 7 April 2026 Kiril Giorev, a candidate of the rival party Velichie, filed a signal claiming that students were offered 50 euro via Viber messages to act as observers on election day and to vote for Daniel Parushev; according to the signal, the messages were sent from the profile of a person said to be a member of the UNSS Student Council. The regional election commission of the 23rd district left the signal unexamined as outside its competence and referred it to the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office; the signal was made public by the "Students against the Mafia" association. The article contains no reply from Parushev and reports no result of the check. — Mediapool, 14.04.2026
  • NPSS. Mediapool reports that Parushev's candidacy in the 23rd district came about a year after he took over the newly created alumni body of NPSS, which he had earlier chaired for two terms (2020–2024). The outlet notes that under the Higher Education Act NPSS is a body of current students and doctoral students, which excludes graduates from holding a managing or advisory role in it; its chair Angel Stoykov says the alumni community has no right to take part in decisions. Asked whether the candidacy raises doubts of political influence in NPSS, Stoykov replied that the topic would be considered at an executive council meeting, and declined to comment on the substance. — Mediapool, 29.03.2026
  • The ultimatum. In December 2017 Yordan Stefanov, who runs the Facebook page "Science and Critical Thinking", said, as quoted by bTV, that Daniel Parushev, then president of the UNSS Student Council, had given him an ultimatum to remove an ironic collage featuring Delyan Peevski, otherwise "our lawyers will file a signal to the 8th police station" (our translation). The Student Council called the post "slanderous" (our translation) and wrote in a declaration that it had already filed a signal with the police. Parushev told bTV that he had been misunderstood and would not want to issue ultimatums; his words make clear that no signal to the Interior Ministry was filed. — Mediapool, 05.12.2017
  • The Student House. In a public position of 27.02.2026, the student theatre Studentina, the National Student Confederation and the Student Society for Computer Art claim that in early 2024 Nikola Tanakov was appointed director of the National Student House without a competition, "as far as we know, on the recommendation of Daniel Parushev – then still the acting chair of NPSS" (our translation); the same position states that under the current rules the director is appointed by order of the education minister without a competition. The authors are organisations that Tanakov invited in early February 2026 to leave the building, while NPSS stays; according to the position, on 23.02.2026 Education Minister Sergey Ignatov assured them that the eviction was stopping. The publication contains no reply from Parushev. — BTA (National Student Confederation), 27.02.2026
  • Lukoil. On 28 July 2026 Daniel Parushev of the governing Progressive Bulgaria defended in the parliamentary Economic Policy Committee his party's bill extending the Lukoil special-manager regime to Lukoil Aviation Bulgaria and Lukoil Bulgaria Bunker; he said the two companies operate in sectors of strategic importance to the country. The committee approved it at first reading with 13 votes in favour, none against and 5 abstentions. — Club Z, 28.07.2026
  • The UNWE complaint. Actualno reported a complaint to the Central Election Commission by the association Students Against the Mafia, which "claims a breach of electoral law through a Viber message offering students a material benefit of 50 euros" (our translation) in return for acting as party observers and "mandatory voting for a specific candidate – Daniel Parushev" (our translation). According to the headline, the regional election commission did not accept the complaint and a decision by the prosecutor's office was awaited. — Actualno, 14.04.2026
