Corruption and scandals
- Appellate court ends the indecent-assault trial over procedural violations. According to a check by the newspaper Sega, relayed by Boulevard Bulgaria, the three judges of the Sofia Appellate Court found that a basic right of the accused had been violated: to know clearly what offence he is charged with. - Voluntary waiver of immunity, February 2025. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova, announced that the MP had himself waived his protection after acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov again requested that his immunity be lifted. - Request to lift his immunity over an indecent-assault charge. The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office asked for his immunity to be lifted so that he could be charged with indecent assault, using force, against an underage girl, Lex.bg reports. Aleksandrov denies this and says the accusation was fabricated around his recent divorce.
