Corruption and scandals
- Her name in a court protocol in a bribery case at the ministry. Tribune.bg writes that the site Crimesbg.com published a protocol of the custody measure under which the son of weightlifter Иван Иванов appealed against his detention; the document, whose authenticity is not confirmed, "expressly gives the name of deputy sports minister Даниела Дашева as the final recipient of the sum" (our translation). According to the protocol, the witness Ареф Маджид, president of the weightlifting federation, who filed the signal with the Commission for Countering Corruption, states that the money was to be handed to an official named Емилия and to her. Flagman.bg reports that Иванов-son, an expert at the ministry, was caught with 62,500 leva according to the investigators, and that the Sofia Appellate Court replaced his detention with house arrest, noting that the operation had interrupted the handover of money to two senior officials, one of them a deputy sports minister. Lupa.bg, citing its own anonymous sources, claims that she has already been summoned for questioning and that the State Agency for National Security (ДАНС) is investigating her. She denies it to Sportal.bg: in her view the attack is aimed not at her personally but at the whole ministry, she has brought civil suits against the media, and she says: "There is no data at all on my involvement, nor are the law enforcement bodies investigating me" (our translation). The Council of Ministers' register lists her again as deputy minister of youth and sports from 23.02.2026 to 08.05.2026; the same site covered the appointment under the headline "Дашева from the bribery testimony returned as deputy sports minister" (our translation). — Tribune.bg, 18.01.2024, Flagman.bg, 28.12.2023, Lupa.bg, 18.01.2024, Sportal.bg, 12.02.2024, IISDA, Council of Ministers, Tribune.bg, 24.02.2026
