Corruption and scandals
- Dispute over municipal land near Kanchevo. As a Vazrazhdane municipal councillor in Kazanlak he opposed the decision to grant a paid building right over 375 decares of municipal land for a photovoltaic plant for 400,000 leva for 30 years, arguing that the municipality would suffer huge harm, since by preliminary estimates the investor would earn between 160 and 190 million leva over the whole period. According to him, the regional governor returned the council's act as unlawful because the status of the land had been changed by a simple rather than a qualified majority. MP Daniel Prodanov said they had "prepared a signal to the district and regional prosecutor's offices" (our translation), with a copy to the Prosecutor General. — Utro Ruse (from BTA), 12.01.2024
Other
- Position on the Buzludzha monument. Together with his fellow councillors he considered unlawful the allocation of 250 thousand leva from the municipal budget for a working project and survey of the monument, since it is state rather than municipal property, and filed a complaint with the Administrative Court in Stara Zagora, which had not been decided at the time of publication. At a briefing before the local referendum on the matter he said for Vazrazhdane: "we will vote for Kazanlak municipality to get the possibility to manage the Buzludzha Monument" (our translation). — PressTV, 15.11.2024
