- The subsidy. According to Club Z, citing data on the Ministry of Justice website, of the state subsidy for the „Progressive Bulgaria“ coalition for 19 April – 30 June 2026 (914,416 euro), „98% go to Political Movement „Social Democrats“, or 896,128 euro“ (our translation); the Social Democratic Party and Movement „Our People“ receive 9,144 euro each. Noneva chairs „Social Democrats“. Club Z writes that the split must have been decided at a coalition council in mid-June, as Noneva had announced to the outlet. — Club Z, 06.07.2026
- The party. Mediapool writes that Noneva's PDS, with no MPs, took almost the whole first tranche of the state subsidy of the „We Continue the Change“ coalition (for 14 November – 31 December 2021); in January 2022 Noneva said there was nothing atypical about the split and that under the coalition agreement SEK and „Volt“ received 5% each and the remaining 90% went to her party. In its analysis the outlet describes PDS as „a polyvalent party entity that can also be regarded as a business project“ (our translation) — the outlet's own assessment, not an established fact. — Mediapool, 06.03.2026
- Russophiles. In a Sega article on the names of the parties running in the local elections, Nikolay Ivanov writes: „Elena Noneva is many things at once - a socialist, a democrat (social democrat), a russophile, a neutral and an advocate of change“ (our translation). He notes that the „Social Democrats“ movement is a partner of the „Neutral Bulgaria“ coalition in the local elections. This is the author's assessment, not an established fact. — Sega, 01.10.2023
- Arms for Ukraine. OFFNews writes that Political Movement „Social Democrats“, led by Elena Noneva, a coalition partner of „We Continue the Change“ with no MPs, distanced itself from PP's position on sending arms to Ukraine and called on MPs to vote against military-technical aid for Ukraine. „Sending arms to Ukraine will not lead to the desired results“ (our translation), the movement said. PDS also asked that, if the government cannot find alternative gas supplies at a similar price, talks be held with the EU and the Russian side on resuming supplies. — OFFNews, 04.05.2022
- Peevski. On 21 October 2025 Noneva announced at a press conference at the BTA press club that „Social Democrats“ were leaving the „BSP – United Left“ coalition. She said: „the state is run not by the mandate-holder, not by the ruling coalition, but by Mr Peevski“ (our translation). — BTA, 21.10.2025
