Corruption and scandals
- Departing councillors describe pressure by ДПС in Stambolovo. According to Сега, Себахтин Халил and Билгин Йълмаз did not want to be linked to Пеевски's model of governance based on dependencies, fear and concentration of personal power. Халил also claims that local people are pressured to vote ДПС because the party-controlled municipality could leave them without work. He is a former party ally who ran for the rival APS in 2024. Their words concern the party apparatus in the municipality; the MP is not named in any wrongdoing. The local structure rejects them, replying that the critics had supported the leadership for years. - Dispute over two councillors leaving the ДПС group in Stambolovo. According to Сега, as the local ДПС chairman for Stambolovo he said that councillors Себахтин Халил and Билгин Йълмаз had already been expelled in 2024 for running for APS (Доган's party) in the parliamentary elections. The two left the group and became independents. This is his version as a party to the dispute; the departing councillors say otherwise. ДПС called the reports of defections fake. — Сега, 30 June 2026
