Corruption and scandals
- Borisov speaks of vanished preference votes of a Ruse candidate. After the 11 July 2021 election, GERB leader Boyko Borisov said, without naming anyone, that there was 'one blatant case' (our translation) of a party candidate in Ruse whose family's preference votes had vanished in the machine count. Radio Free Europe identified the case as Krastev's, and he confirmed to it that Borisov meant him. The claim comes from the leader of his own party and favours that party; it alleges election manipulation, not wrongdoing by him.
