Communist Party and State Security

According to Zonanews.bg the agent filed a report for Directorate 06 of State Security on Zhelyu Zhelev's book Fascism, claiming that it carried out a "serious ideological diversion" (our translation). - Agent Andrey of the Sixth Directorate, data passed to the KGB. Zonanews.bg, which publishes a facsimile from his personal file, writes that he was recruited in 1983 on an ideological-political basis by Lt. Ivan Nedyalkov of the Sixth Directorate of State Security and registered under the pseudonym Andrey. According to the outlet he supplied information on the conduct of Bulgarian and foreign scholars linked to a possible ideological diversion against the communist regime in Bulgaria and the Soviets. It quotes his personal and working file as stating: "He successfully solved tasks for the State Security organs during trips abroad - Canada, USA and Austria, with the data obtained being provided to the KGB organs" (our translation). — Zonanews.bg, 19.06.2021
