Corruption and scandals
- Charged after a road accident that injured a pedestrian. According to the prosecution service's press office, on 02.10.2015 in Troyan Mihovski, then a GERB MP, did not slow down the Mercedes C 350 he was driving and hit a woman crossing the road, negligently causing her moderate bodily harm. "Mihovski was tested for alcohol with a technical device, a Dräger Alcotest breathalyser, which gave a positive result, namely 0.48 per mille." (our translation) He was issued a report for a breach of the Road Traffic Act, which he signed without objection. On 08.02.2016 Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov submitted a request to the National Assembly to lift his immunity. On 17.06.2016 the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office charged him under Art. 343 of the Criminal Code. — Utro Ruse, 17.06.2016
