- The drones. On 07.10.2026, as chair of the defence committee, Ivan Lalov told BNT that the claims that the drone attack on merchant ships in the Black Sea was part of a Russian combined operation come from Ukrainian president Zelensky: "It is possible that it is so. But it is also possible that it is not" (our translation). In his words the likelihood that the attack was carried out by Ukraine or by Russia is "50 to 50" (our translation).
