Communist Party and State Security

• His father Velichko Minev – the red colonel, according to Delyan Dobrev. The local site Haskovograd.com, critical of Minev and Dobrev, writes: „Синът на Минев – Иван Минев, вече е зам.-председател на парламентарната комисия по конституционни и правни въпроси от квотата на ГЕРБ и близък до Добрев.“ (our translation: "Minev's son, Ivan Minev, is now deputy chair of the parliamentary committee on constitutional and legal affairs from the GERB quota and close to Dobrev.") The nickname comes from Dobrev (GERB), who said in a TV appearance: „Мажоритарният собственик е червеният полковник Величко Минев…“ (our translation: "The majority owner is the red colonel Velichko Minev…"). No document of service in State Security or the army, and no rank, was cited. Corruption and scandals

• His father – a company winning road tenders in Lyubimets. Local Haskovo outlets leaning towards the opposition (Aferahs.com, Haskovograd.com) allege that Европът 2005 ООД, Velichko Minev's company, wins municipal road and street tenders in Lyubimets. They say a rival bidder was removed on a technicality in a tender worth about 3 million lv. Aferahs.com also calls him a red colonel. The owner of these outlets is not known. No court ruling and no finding by АДФИ or the Audit Office was cited, and the outcome is unknown. — Aferahs.com, approx. April 2023
• His father – disputed ownership of Еко Традекс Груп. Haskovograd.com claims, around September 2025, that Velichko Minev owns Еко Традекс Груп and that OLAF fined the company about 2 million lv for abuse of EU funds. No document was cited. Bivol's commercial register data contradicts this: the shares were held by Дорис ЕООД, Форуком АД and one share each by Minev, Лилянов and Гаргов. Bivol writes „Дорис ЕООД е еднолична собственост на съпругата на Величко Минев“ (our translation: "Дорис ЕООД is solely owned by the wife of Velichko Minev") and says he is not a majority shareholder. No OLAF decision was found, so the fine remains unconfirmed. — Bivol.bg, 28.09.2017

Other

• His father – a business partner of Delyan Dobrev in Форуком Фонд Имоти. Bivol writes that Delyan Dobrev, who led the GERB list on which the son also stood, was a partner of Velichko Minev in Форуком Фонд Имоти. In the commercial register Minev appears under the surname Милев but with a matching ЕГН. The other partners were Dobrev's cousin and Тенчо Лилянов. Bivol says Dobrev tried to shift the blame onto Minev, while the two had in fact been partners. Bivol is in a dispute with Dobrev. No consequences were recorded. — Bivol.bg, 28.09.2017
