Russia

  • Lukoil. On 24.07.2026 Ivan Mavrodiev was one of six Progressive Bulgaria MPs who tabled a bill amending the Act on the administrative regulation of economic activities related to oil and oil products, after a Constitutional Court ruling on the special manager of critical-infrastructure sites (BTA's headline calls it the law on the special manager of Lukoil). According to BTA the aim is to let the state take temporary measures to protect the public interest and energy security also with regard to commercial companies through which market sales and supply are carried out. — BTA, 25.07.2026

Corruption and scandals

  • The declaration. Reviewing the asset declarations of Progressive Bulgaria MPs, Mediapool writes that Ivan Mavrodiev declared parts of a plot, plantings and several fields in the village of Yagodovo and two cars, and declared no cash or money in bank accounts. According to Mediapool he is married, but "his wife's property, however, is not described as it should be in his asset declaration" (our translation); the declaration mentions the baby-goods company NANNIT, formerly in his name, which according to the Commercial Register is now managed by a woman with the same surname. — Mediapool, 27.08.2026
