Russia

  • Defends teaching Russian from the rostrum. Trud reports that from the parliamentary rostrum he described criticism of teaching Russian in Bulgarian schools as „антируска истерия на чужди посолства и техните еничари“ (our translation: "anti-Russian hysteria of foreign embassies and their janissaries"). In another speech he said that banning languages is the beginning of wars. The text was also circulated by the Vazrazhdane press office through Epicenter.bg. — Trud, 29.05.2025

Corruption and scandals

  • Insults to PP-DB MPs and a reprimand from the NA chair. Debati.bg reports that while reading a Vazrazhdane declaration on teaching Russian in schools he insulted MPs of PP-DB, his party's political opponents. National Assembly chair Natalia Kiselova gave him the sanction of a reprimand, and a near-brawl followed. No other consequences have been found. — Debati.bg, 29.05.2025
