In February 2024 PP-DB, a rival parliamentary group, tabled a draft resolution to remove Ivelin Parvanov and Angel Georgiev from committees over their part in a party delegation that was in Moscow at the invitation of United Russia. After caretaker minister Atanas Zapryanov announced that Bulgaria had sent Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine, Ivelin Parvanov told journalists: "The self-propelled howitzer is a defensive asset, an asset that our armed forces need, and an asset that is not obsolete, and we cannot give it away" (our translation).
