Corruption and scandals

  • Expelled Plovdiv МЕЧ member accuses him of organising the expulsion. According to Mediamall, Ivan Kaloferov, expelled from МЕЧ in Plovdiv, says: „Организаторите на "другарския съд" са амбициозните и напористите областни ръководители на ПП МЕЧ“ (our translation: the organisers of the "comrades' court" are the ambitious and pushy regional leaders of ПП МЕЧ). The outlet identifies them as Donchev and Aleksandar Todorov, the party's two regional coordinators, calls both people with a disputed past without giving details, and writes that Donchev is Radostin Vasilev's best man (кум). Mediamall relies on an anonymous tip-off, and its main source, Kaloferov, is the expelled party rival. The dispute is internal to the party and no proceedings have been opened. — Mediamall, 7 July 2025
  • Claim about loans owed to UK banks. Intrigi.bg, citing an anonymous source, wrote: „Красимир Дончев от МЕЧ ще бъде посечен заради тлъсти кредити, които дължи на банки във Великобритания.“ (our translation: Krasimir Donchev of МЕЧ will be cut down over hefty loans he owes to banks in the United Kingdom). The site also claims that he is blacklisted there and brought in workers from Bulgaria and third countries. The story ran during the crisis in the МЕЧ parliamentary group and was republished by Narod.bg. No documents, proceedings or response from him were found. He remained an MP and led the МЕЧ list in 2026. — Intrigi.bg, 21 March 2025
