Russia

  • Position on the war in Ukraine. In an interview for Darik Radio, republished by Novini 24/7, the MECh candidate for vice president said: „From the outset Bulgaria should have had complete neutrality regarding the Russia–Ukraine war“ (our translation). In his view the country should not provoke the bear. He believes the drones in the Black Sea are most likely Soviet (as printed), giving credit to Radev's reasoning. In the same interview he rejects servility to the USSR, Russia, Brussels or the USA. The republication contains odd wording. — Novini 24/7 (from Darik Radio), 14.10.2026
  • Remarks on the Black Sea drones. As the MECh candidate for vice president he said on bTV's Tazi sutrin: “You must have a very clear position based on facts. In this case we do not have the facts” (our translation). He blamed the protests in Europe on failures of EU policy and criticised the Green Deal and von der Leyen. The election is on 25.10.2026. — bTV News, 19.10.2026

Corruption and scandals

  • Co-filed an alert on the Chiren gas storage tender. Bivol.bg writes that on 14.02.2024, together with Hristo Kazandzhiev and Vasil Filipov, he reported a scheme worth about 100 million leva in the expansion, involving Bulgartransgaz and Glavbolgarstroy. He is not the accused but a political opponent of the government. According to the outlet, the European Public Prosecutor's Office is examining the project and has searched both companies. — Bivol.bg, 15.08.2024
