Russia
- Claim of pressure in a vote on guarding MPs. PP-DB proposed removing the option for the National Protection Service to guard MPs at their own discretion. OFFNews writes: "At the first vote Krasimir Yordanov of BSP backed the PP-DB proposal, and at the second vote an hour later he was already absent from the chamber" (our translation). Ivaylo Mirchev of Да, България, a political opponent of the socialists, said that a BSP MP from Yambol had been pressured during the break. The bill was rejected. The outlet shows no comment from Yordanov and reports no investigation. — OFFNews, 14 Jan 2026
Corruption and scandals
- Co-sponsor of draft decisions on the war in Ukraine. In his own report for the 50th National Assembly he lists himself as co-sponsor of two draft decisions: one to bar the use on Russian territory of arms and equipment given to Ukraine, and one "on the non-participation of the Republic of Bulgaria in the military conflict" (our translation). The report does not say what became of them. — NetNews, 1 Oct 2024
