Russia

  • Spokesperson of an initiative against sending weapons to Ukraine. BNT, in a fact check, reports that she and Ivelin Mihaylov sit on the public council of the initiative Референдум за мир и суверенитет (Referendum for Peace and Sovereignty). She is on the board of the association and its main spokesperson, and her son administers the group Свободна и мирна България (Free and Peaceful Bulgaria) together with Mihaylov. BNT notes that Mihaylov actively posts pro-Russian content. She herself denies holding pro-Russian positions. — BNT News, 15.02.2024

Corruption and scandals

  • She leaves the Velichie parliamentary group. BTA reports that six Velichie MPs, her among them, submitted requests to leave the parliamentary group the previous week, citing lost trust in its leadership. She sided with the party founder Ivelin Mihaylov against the group chair Nikolay Markov. Left with fewer than 10 MPs, the group broke up, and she remained an independent until the end of the 50th National Assembly. — Utro Ruse (from BTA), 10.07.2024
  • Fraud allegation concerning her son Rumen. MECh leader Radostin Vasilev, whose party is a rival of Velichie, alleged from the parliamentary floor that her son Rumen defrauded a young woman of 100,000 leva. The claim was reported by Temida.TV and Narod.bg. Her son has contested the allegation in public statements, and she commented on the case in a YouTube video (Първи коментар). No charge or court ruling has been found. — Temida.TV, 31.10.2025
  • Anonymous source: she would leave unless made deputy speaker. Narod.bg, citing an anonymous source, claims she would leave the 50th National Assembly unless she was made deputy speaker in place of Viktoria Vasileva. The claim comes from a single source and is unconfirmed. A few days later she left the Velichie group, and her mandate was not terminated. — PressTV.bg (from Narod.bg), 04.07.2024
