Communist Party and State Security

  • Is he the son of the First Chief Directorate officer Ivan Enchev Bakardzhiev? In decisions of the Dossier Commission, Ivan Enchev Bakardzhiev is named as an officer of the State Security First Chief Directorate who recruited and handled agents: as a captain in Decision No. 175 of 14 Dec 2010, and as a reserve officer in Decision No. 2-1586 of 19 Mar 2019. The MP's patronymic, Ivanov, shows that his father's name is Ivan. We have found no document linking the two; the decisions do not give the officer's date or place of birth. Question to Lachezar Bakardzhiev: is Ivan Enchev Bakardzhiev your father? — Decision No. 175, 14 Dec 2010, Decision No. 2-1586, 19 Mar 2019

Other

  • Left business before becoming deputy regional governor of Plovdiv. An article by the newspaper Maritsa, published by Goreshtite novini na Podbalkana on his appointment from the quota of There Is Such a People, reads: „Last summer he transferred his shares in 3 firms to his wife Savina.“ (our translation) He also left the management of three other companies, two of them linked to VMZ-Sopot and the business of Optikoelektron-Panagyurishte. — Goreshtite novini na Podbalkana, 24 January 2022
