Corruption and scandals

  • Kardzhali RIK refuses registration over alleged dual citizenship. Народ.бг, cited by SafeNews.bg, reports that the Kardzhali RIK refused to register her as a candidate, saying she held dual citizenship and was registered abroad. ЦИК overturned the refusal after a check in the NBD Население showed that she holds only Bulgarian citizenship. Her registration was ordered and she stood in the elections of 27 October 2024. — SafeNews.bg (citing Народ.бг), 18.09.2024

Other

  • Leaves the Величие parliamentary group. Сега writes that she was one of six MPs of the 13-member Величие group in the 50th National Assembly who left it; according to the paper, they were from the wing linked to Ивелин Михайлов. The group fell below the minimum of 10 and ceased to exist, those who left became independents, and deputy speaker Виктория Василева lost her post. She returned for Величие in the 51st National Assembly, where the party had its own group of 10. — Сега, 05.07.2024
