Russia

  • Romanian nationalists. According to Sega, citing Dnevnik, Dan Dungaciu, first deputy chairman of Romania's AUR party, writes that a party delegation met in the parliament in Sofia "among others, with: Martin Mariov Zhlyabinkov, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Regional Policy, Public Works and Local Self-Government" and two other Progressive Bulgaria MPs, and describes them as "young and promising members of the ruling party" (our translation). Sega describes AUR as a party "characterised as a far-right nationalist, Eurosceptic and populist formation" (our translation). The article carries no reaction from Zhlyabinkov or Progressive Bulgaria. — Sega, 09.10.2026

Corruption and scandals

  • The BSP. In February 2023 he was among those expelled from the party at the BSP congress; Mediapool lists "Мартин Жлябинков" among them. According to the outlet, "by unofficial information" (our translation) the party's youth union, of which he is a former leader, would also leave the BSP. — Mediapool, 13.02.2023
  • The switch. According to Mediapool, second on the Progressive Bulgaria list in Pernik is "the former secretary of the municipality in the city and BSP cadre Martin Zhlyabinkov" (our translation). — Mediapool, 21.03.2026
