Corruption and scandals

  • The veto. On 25.02.2026 "Ivo Tsanev, Nikolay Zlatarski and Nadya Petrova from the party of Delyan Peevski, sanctioned for corruption, voted against the veto" (our translation) by President Yotova on the Electoral Code amendments. According to the deputy chair of the DPS – New Beginning group, Iskra Mihaylova, this was a "technical error" and the three would correct their votes. — RFE/RL, 25.02.2026
  • DPS, 2024. RFE/RL wrote in July 2024 about the DPS MPs: "New DPS cadres were also elected from Varna, Montana and Kyustendil – Hyusni Adem, Nadya Petrova and Nikolay Zlatarski respectively" (our translation). — RFE/RL, 15.07.2024
