Corruption and scandals
- Dual citizenship. According to a Club Z check following an inquiry to the Central Election Commission, the new National Assembly has an MP with dual citizenship: Yuzergan, who holds Bulgarian and Turkish citizenship. Club Z writes that she is "probably the first MP in Bulgarian parliaments so far with another citizenship" (our translation), and recalls that the 2023 constitutional amendments allow this for MPs and ministers who have lived in Bulgaria for the past 18 months; Rumen Radev, as President, challenged the change twice, but the Constitutional Court left it in force. — Club Z, 19.05.2026
- Citizenship. A Club Z analysis of Progressive Bulgaria's work with Bulgarian Turks lists its MPs with Turkish names: "These are Fatme Ramadan, Emine Gyulestan, Nihal Yuzergan (she even has Turkish citizenship), Mesut Rushid, Rashid Uzunov, Tefik Parafitov" (our translation). — Club Z, 05.09.2026
