Other

  • Takes down the Russian flag hoisted by the mayor of Dupnitsa. On 9 May mayor Parvan Dangov hoists the flag of the Russian Federation beside those of Bulgaria and the European Union outside the municipality. As a municipal councillor he takes it down three times and throws it in the bin, but each time it is raised again, BNT reports. Of his reaction he says: "Полудях още повече, защото звучеше 'Ставай, страна огромная', бях бесен" (our translation: "I went even madder, because 'Stavay, strana ogromnaya' was playing; I was furious"). By the end of the working day all three flags had been taken down. — БНТ, 09.05.2024
  • Had not read the coalition programme, writes Factor.bg. Factor.bg, republished by Tribune.bg, writes that on bTV's morning show the head of the DB list in Kyustendil admitted he had not read the programme. He also explains: "Влизам заради обратното нещо - за да покажа, че човек може да влезе в политиката и без да участва в тези схеми" (our translation: "I am going in for the opposite reason: to show that one can enter politics without taking part in these schemes"). — Tribune.bg (по Factor.bg), 23.03.2021
