Corruption and scandals
- The poll. Actualno, citing BNR, reports that in October 2024 Nikolay Zlatarski, DPS-New Beginning list leader in Kyustendil, named his own coalition in a social-media poll as the one that "will buy the most votes" (our translation) at the 27 October election; he did not clarify whether it was a mistake. The article adds that his name is on the list of vote buyers circulated by "Bulgarian Elves". — Actualno, 10.10.2024
- ITN. In May 2021, after resigning as municipal leader of "Ima takav narod" (ITN) in Dupnitsa, Zlatarski told Trud: "I paid for everything out of my own pocket" (our translation). As a local leader who had left the party, he claims he was second on the list after secretary general Viktoria Vasileva, who at the last moment was moved to Kyustendil region so that Nikola Krastev, son of the owner of Olineza, could enter from Sofia.
