Communist Party and State Security
- A salaried State Security officer. After the State Security school in 1981, Nikolay Radulov was assigned to the State Security section of the Leninsko district directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Sofia, writes desebg.com. The site is explicitly anti-communist, and the piece appeared after ИТН nominated him for minister. The same source says the Dossier Commission declared his affiliation and that his personal file is public. — desebg.com, 20.07.2021
- Declared again in 2026. In checking all candidates for the 19 April elections, the Dossier Commission declared him an affiliated person, reports Clubz, which writes: „Радулов е разузнавач, осветляван и преди.“ (our translation: "Radulov is an intelligence officer, disclosed before.") At the time he headed МЕЧ's lists in Varna and in Sofia region, and he stayed in that position. — Clubz, 08.04.2026
- BKP member and State Security captain. According to his personal file as relayed by desebg.com, Radulov was a BKP member from 1983 and a senior intelligence officer from 1985, with the approval of the party organisation. From 1987 he worked in the Учебен department of the Ministry of Interior's Кадри directorate. He was promoted to State Security captain in 1988. - In 1982 – handler of nine State Security agents. According to a service evaluation in his personal file, cited by desebg.com, as a young officer he ran nine agents and was proposed for extra pay for active agent-operational work. - Took part in a confiscation and an arrest during State Security school. During his practice Radulov worked on operational cases against people the regime labelled enemies. According to his reference, cited by desebg.com, he took part in confiscating and inventorying the movable and immovable property of a person declared a traitor of the homeland, and in an arrest and interrogation. - His father – a lecturer at the BKP Central Committee academy. desebg.com, summarising Radulov's personal file, writes that his father was a professor, a BKP member and a lecturer in the party's history at the Academy of Social Sciences and Social Management (АОНСУ) under the Central Committee, which trained its leading cadres. - Against money and weapons for Ukraine. On the programme Разговор on studio ФАКТИ, hosted by Lili Marinkova, Radulov, then an МЕЧ MP, said the party opposes sending money and weapons to Ukraine and taking in Ukrainian refugees, and that in his view the money given to Ukraine had been stolen. — Novinite.bg
Corruption and scandals
- Leaves the ИТН parliamentary group. In June 2022 Radulov left the ИТН parliamentary group together with Radostin Vasilev and other MPs and became independent. In his words, as reported by News.bg: „Дълго ни повтаряха, че ние сме никой, че ще гласуваме, както ни се разпореди.“ (our translation: "For a long time they kept telling us we were nobody and would vote as we were told.") He also claims that a driver or bodyguard of Slavi Trifonov tried to direct the security group. He is a party to the dispute; the other side, ИТН and pik.bg, also with a stake, calls them traitors. - Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. According to 24 Chasa, Radulov was secretary of the Ministry of Interior from 17 February 1997 to 3 December 1998. He was appointed under the caretaker Sofiyanski cabinet and left under Kostov's. The reason for his dismissal has not been established. — 24 Chasa, July 2021
