Corruption and scandals
- Allegation of copying in her dissertation. Narod.bg publishes, against the ITN list, a text by the journalist and human-rights activist Yuliyana Metodieva, who recounts a case from eight or nine years earlier: “We had caught her taking whole passages from a unique book on torture into her dissertation” (our translation). According to Metodieva, they wrote to her boss Velina Todorova, a short piece on the case appeared in a mass-circulation newspaper, and an article by the candidate with the same quotations was published in the journal Затворно дело; she asks why ВАК awarded her the degree nonetheless.
