Corruption and scandals

  • Allegation of lists for dismissals and appointments. The Kardzhali outlet Rodopi24, relayed by the site Neudobnite, alleges that as chair of the parliamentary agriculture committee "he phoned directors of forestry enterprises and other structures under the umbrella of the Ministry of Agriculture with ready-made lists for removing people" (our translation). According to the outlet there were also lists for appointing APS cadres, without the knowledge of Minister Georgi Tahov. SafeNews writes that the directors refused. The story appeared during the split between Dogan and Peevski in DPS, and the MP belongs to the former's camp. Whether the outlets have a stake is not established. Rodopi24 notes that its questions went unanswered. No investigation, sanction or official reaction has been found. — Neudobnite, 02.04.2025
  • Anonymous claim about property and bribes. The site Neudobnite published a claim from an anonymous source: "A resident of the town of Aitos told our outlet that Ali has over 10 cooperative buildings with over 150 apartments in this area" (our translation). By his account the MP also owns over 200 decares of orchards and takes bribes. No documents were presented. The outlet is not neutral: it calls him a 'deribey' (overlord) and Dogan's man. Rodopi24 writes that he stays silent. No public denial, KPKONPI check, ADFI act, charge or court proceedings have been found. — Neudobnite, 02.04.2025
