- Alleged fight with a colleague. In March 2022 tabloids, citing an anonymous insider in the cabinet, alleged that he came to blows with fellow deputy minister Momchil Nekov. Novini 24/7, republishing Narod.bg, which is hostile to the BSP leadership, reports that both denied it. - Anonymous claims of a criminal record and drug use. In January 2022 the tabloid Narod.bg, citing anonymous BSP members, published an attack on his appointment as deputy minister. It alleges a criminal record, a past as a drug user and a weak record in agriculture. The same was repeated in February 2025. - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food from February 2025. The Council of Ministers states on gov.bg that he and Stoyan Toshev were appointed by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. - Claim about his family's wealth. A hostile tabloid article on informiran.net, citing anonymous BSP members, says: „Both of the young man's parents are among the biggest farmers in the Pleven region, and the son spends the millions they earned“ (our translation). The same source says he has no farming experience of his own, and Narod.bg calls him heir to a grain-growing family.
