Corruption and scandals
- A contested appointment in Sofia's Oborishte district. In April 2025 the district mayor, Georgi Kuzmov, appointed him in place of the non-party deputy mayor Bozhidar Emanuilov, admitting that under the coalition agreement the post was due to DSB. The widespread comments, Sega writes, cast the dismissed deputy as a representative of the citizens and the new one as a man with party patronage: "That is why the district's residents reacted sharply to his replacement by Mihalev" (our translation). About 50 protesters met Kuzmov and him in the administration building; posts in the neighbourhood Facebook group said that meanwhile he was "stepping back" (our translation), but the paper's own check found that he remained in office. Listed under the article is a further report of 1 May 2025, whose headline says he is leaving the post. — Epicenter.bg (republishing Sega), 9 April 2025, Sega, 11 April 2025
