Corruption and scandals

  • Signals against the mayor of Stamboliyski. He told BGNES: "I have sent dozens of signals to the police about possible violations" (our translation). They concern the mayor of Stamboliyski, Georgi Maradzhiev (GERB), a political opponent of Vazrazhdane; according to Standart, public procurement awarded to Профешънъл-777. The mayor was then caught in a special anti-fraud operation. Taslakov is not the target of the investigation and says he does not know why the prosecutor's office did not act earlier. The outcome of the case has not been checked. — dnes.bg (citing BGNES), 24.11.2022
  • Alleged attack by the son of the Panagyurishte mayor. Taslakov said that Ivan Belishki, son of the GERB mayor of Panagyurishte, had attacked him outside his MP housing in Sofia. He called the conflict political rather than personal and said the threats had begun two months earlier. Vazrazhdane said the police and prosecutors had been notified and no detention had followed. The final outcome has not been checked. — Offnews, 25.01.2023
