Corruption and scandals
- Insults to a GERB municipal councillor. At a regular session of the Petrich Municipal Council, the MP directed insulting remarks at Svetoslav Sharkov, „calling him 'garbage' and 'dirty b*****d' in front of a full hall of councillors, journalists, cameras and citizens“ (our translation). Struma.com reports this from people who were present and publishes an audio recording. The council chair, Georgi Trenchev, reminded him from the microphone that until the day before they had worked together. Sharkov said he would seek redress in court. — Struma.com, 27.12.2019
