Russia

  • Lukoil and gas. On BNT, Todor Dzhikov of Progressive Bulgaria defended the government's measure on the Lukoil refinery: "We will allow Lukoil to earn more and pay higher taxes here" (our translation). On the price of natural gas he said that "in support of Ukraine we have given up the cheapest pipeline gas from Russia" (our translation) and that without the war prices would be much lower. — Trud, 14.10.2026

Corruption and scandals

  • Land. According to Mediapool, his entry declaration as an MP shows Todor Dzhikov owns a total of 534 decares of fields, acquired between 2005 and 2025 for about 25,000 euro. He and his wife use another 841 decares of fields, all in Ikhtiman municipality. The article does not allege any violation. — Mediapool, 27.08.2026
  • The protests. In September 2023 Sega, citing Mediapool, reported that one of the most active organisers of the protests against lifting the ban on Ukrainian grain imports was Todor Dzhikov, former deputy agriculture minister in Rumen Radev's last caretaker government and head of the Potato Producers' Association. Prime Minister Denkov spoke of "attempts at blackmail" (our translation) and, without naming anyone, was understood to mean farm-sector representatives close to President Radev; that link is the newspaper's reading. — Sega, 15.09.2023
