Russia
- Ukraine. In the parliamentary debate on aid to Ukraine on 4 May 2022, Toma Bikov of GERB said that adopting the declaration would mean Bulgaria continuing to sell arms to intermediaries who pass them on to Ukraine. In his view the position as PP proposed it "is neutral and weakens our position in Europe" (our translation). — News.bg, 04.05.2022
Corruption and scandals
- The apology. In January 2023 GERB MP Toma Bikov apologised on Facebook for spreading false information: the claim that Tenko Nikolov, a donor to VOLT and Democratic Bulgaria, was the brother of a person in the management of Nexo. He said it was "a coincidence of names". "I am sorry that I was misled and spread an untruth" (our translation). — Dir.bg, 17.01.2023
- The Nexo case. In February 2023 Dir.bg reported that former Continue the Change MP Nastimir Ananiev had filed defamation claims at the Sofia District Court against Slavi Trifonov and Toma Bikov over statements linking his name to Nexo; the court confirmed the filing. In mid-January Bikov and Trifonov had commented that Ananiev was a business partner of Antoni Trenchev, one of the owners of Nexo. — Dir.bg, 17.02.2023
- The media. In September 2020 Toma Bikov said on BNT that Western media articles about Bulgaria were paid for. Asked which media he meant, he said: "Since I have no evidence, I cannot name a specific article, but a not small part of them are commissioned" (our translation). - "Apartmentgate". In April 2019 on BNR Toma Bikov said of "Apartmentgate": "it is not a matter of corruption. It is a matter of declaring the tax valuation and unethical things of that kind, but not crimes" (our translation).
