Corruption and scandals
- Tax debt. BIRD reports, citing National Revenue Agency (NAP) data as of 12 May 2026, that Dimax Security, in which Valeri Lachovski "holds a 50% share" (our translation), owes the state 3.7 thousand euro and has been on the NAP list of debtors since 30.04.2016; BIRD says he is "the only GERB MP left in the club" (our translation) of debtors. According to the same text, a large part of the firm's debts, which at one point reached 21.8 thousand euro, has been repaid. — BIRD.BG, 15.05.2026
- The health insurance amendment. ClubZ writes that the amendment to the Health Insurance Act by which the majority restored the monthly limits on hospitals for activities paid by the National Health Insurance Fund, struck down by the Constitutional Court, was "slipped in" (our translation) at the last moment in the health committee by GERB MP Valeri Lachovski. According to GERB, without limits spending grows uncontrollably; according to the opposition, a Constitutional Court ruling is being circumvented.
