Corruption and scandals

  • Claim of a jointly owned company with his wife while chairing the health committee. The tabloid Informiran.net, hostile to PP-DB, writes, citing 19min.bg, that his then wife Belobradova appears in 7 companies, one of them active and shared with him (our translation of „Белобрадова фигурира в 7 дружества, от които има и общо АКТИВНО с Васил Пандов“) – the health-consulting firm QM Consulting. The outlet implies a conflict of interest because at the time he chaired the health committee. His role in the firm has not been checked against the Commercial Register, and there is no sanction. — Informiran.net, 29.06.2023
  • Claim of a conflict of interest through his brother Marin Pandov. Narod.bg, hostile to PP, alleges that the lawyer Marin Pandov, his brother, is long-time counsel to firms of Ivaylo Batinkov, which rent an expensive PET scanner to Sofia's Fifth City Hospital under a municipal tender. The outlet suggests a conflict of interest for the health-committee MP himself, although he is not a party to the tender. No charge or finding is cited, and no investigation or reaction has been found. — Narod.bg, 03.09.2025
  • Criticism of the NZOK Supervisory Board for lack of transparency. The health outlet Clinica.bg criticises the Supervisory Board he chaired for giving no information about its meetings and decisions, and calls it „най-непрозрачния Надзорен съвет на НЗОК“ (the most non-transparent NZOK Supervisory Board; our translation). This is the editorial opinion, without a document. There is no record of any inquiry or sanction. — Clinica.bg, 01.03.2023

Other

  • Chief of cabinet of the health minister; claim of legal work for professional unions. Narod.bg, hostile to PP, writes that in 2022 he was chief of cabinet of Health Minister Asena Serbezova and chair of the NZOK Supervisory Board, and that from 2003 to 2021 he had been a lawyer for the Bulgarian Medical Union and the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union. The posts are also confirmed by promeni.bg, Wikipedia and zdrave.net; the legal work rests on Narod.bg alone. The site hints at a conflict of interest; no violation has been established. — Narod.bg, 03.09.2025
