Public record

Compiled from publications and official records as of 18.10.2026. Every statement links to its source; claims made by others are marked as such, with who makes them. Quotations in English are our translation.

Russia

  • "Gazprom". Delyan Dobrev of GERB said on bTV's "Face to Face": "Why is Sabrutev so sensitive on the subject of Russia. Because he is a Gazprom employee" (our translation). Dobrev, a political opponent, was replying to Sabrutev (PP-DB), who had accused him of telling lies about Bulgaria's profits and losses from Lukoil. The publicly accessible part of the article gives no evidence for the claim. — 24 Chasa, 20.02.2024
  • TurkStream. In September 2022, in an interview with OFFNews, Sabrutev said: "Turkish Stream is the symbol of corruption in Bulgaria", and that the prosecutor's office should assess whether "by these actions of his, Borisov has made us accomplices in the war" (our translation). — OFFNews, 28.09.2022

Corruption and scandals

  • The rules of procedure. 24 Chasa writes, in a piece labelled "Review", that Sabrutev, "the MP of 'Continuing the Change' and a member of its leadership" (our translation), threw the parliament's rules of procedure at the Speaker of the National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova, and that he apologised. The piece is illustrated with a still from the National Assembly's Facebook page; the full text is available only with registration. — 24 Chasa, 30.01.2025
