Russia
- Stance on aid to Ukraine and sanctions. At a press conference in Shumen on the election results he said the party wants an end to aid to Ukraine, and added: „We will also insist on ending the sanctions on Russia“ (our translation). The remarks were reported by Utro Ruse via BTA. — Utro Ruse (via BTA)
Corruption and scandals
- Charged after clashes with police. At a Vazrazhdane protest outside the Regional Development Ministry on 27 January 2020 he was detained together with Angel Georgiev of the same party. Both were charged with light bodily harm to police officers, resisting an authority and hooliganism. Boulevard Bulgaria writes about a prosecution request to parliament to lift Georgiev's immunity, not Veshev's, and notes: „The case has been under way for more than six years and has still not finished at first instance“ (our translation). There is no verdict. — Boulevard Bulgaria, 11.06.2026
- Prosecutor General's request in the protest case. Radio Free Europe reports that in June 2023 Ivan Geshev asked parliament to lift his immunity and that of Angel Georgiev. Sofia District Court had stayed the case on 9 December 2021, after Georgiev was elected MP and he became a municipal councillor. „On 16.08.2022 the same panel does not resume the proceedings“ (our translation). Vazrazhdane says the two are voluntarily giving up this protection. — Radio Free Europe (Bulgarian service), 05.06.2023
- Limitation periods in the case. Gospodari.com writes that the case against him and Georgiev, in court since 2021, will have to start over, and gives periods of 7.5 years for the bodily harm and 15 years for hooliganism. The reason is unverified; only an excerpt was read. — Gospodari.com, 2025
