• His father – Colonel General Tencho Papazov. Zemya newspaper, in its note to an interview with Papazov, states that he was born into the family of „ген. Тенчо Папазов – антифашист, а по-късно Командващ Трета армия, зам.-министър на народната отбрана и началник на Гражданската отбрана“ (our translation: "Gen. Tencho Papazov – an anti-fascist, later Commander of the Third Army, deputy minister of national defence and head of Civil Defence"). Russia

• Position on the war in Ukraine and on the EU. In an interview for Darik Radio, reprinted by novini247.com, Papazov says: "There is no war by Vladimir Putin in Ukraine." (our translation) In his view Putin is not a despot and has not broken any law with his special military operation. He calls the European Union an ugly likeness of the USSR. • On sanctions and the European economy. "The EU committed suicide." (our translation) This is how Papazov, then an MP, sums up the union's position in a Trud News interview. He blames its economic troubles on sanctions and energy policy. He says Europe lived off Russian energy, raw-material and financial subsidy. — Trud, February 2025
• On sanctions against Russia and the world order. In a video interview for ПогледтВ, Papazov says that with the sanctions against Russia Europeans destroyed the existing world order. Corruption and scandals

• Dispute over Finland, NATO and Factcheck.bg. In May 2022, as economic adviser to Vazrazhdane's parliamentary group, he claimed that Finland joining NATO violates its peace treaty with Russia. The fact-checkers disputed this. In his reply, published by Burgasnews, Papazov accused them of propagandising for the USA and Soros. No sanctions are reported. — Burgasnews, 30.05.2022

• Dismissed from the stock exchange amid a dispute between two exchanges. Kapital writes that the board of directors of Bulgarian Stock Exchange – Sofia AD dismissed him as executive director and that Georgi Prohaski took his place. Papazov rejected the accusations as vague and voted against. The exchange was at the time in a dispute with another exchange, and the paper also gives his own position. — Kapital, 04.04.1998
