• Statement about Russia in a Darik radio interview. In an interview on Darik radio's Денят на Дарик, reported by Lentata.com, the MECH MP said that Russia is 'in the hearts of Bulgarians' (our translation). That is also the article's headline. The available excerpt does not show the wider context of the remark or her position on the war in Ukraine. In the same interview she also commented on the Bulgarian F-16 case. — Lentata.com, 2025

Corruption and scandals

• As minister, exposes advance payments made without public procurement. According to Mediapool, she said that the state company Автомагистрали had paid out advances worth hundreds of millions of leva, including for landslide stabilisation, to firms without public procurement: 30 firms and 188 million leva. She called this a distortion of competition and said: "We will no longer hand out money for construction without public procurement" (our translation). By her account, current-repair contracts worth about 2 billion leva were cancelled. The statements were made together with caretaker ministers Petkov and Vasilev, who later entered politics. The accusation is aimed at earlier governments; it is not known whether the prosecutor's office acted on it. — Mediapool.bg, July 2021
• Allegation about villas in Pomorie bought with Rural Development Programme money. Journalist Sonya Koltukliyeva alleges on Facebook that "Violeta Komitova and her daughter Gilyana acquired two seaside twin villas with money from" (our translation) the Rural Development Programme (ПРСР) through Вая Холидей ООД. According to the post, the MP was the company's owner and manager, and the daughter has been its sole owner since 03.02.2017, the day her mother became deputy minister in the first caretaker government appointed by Radev. By the post's account the sum is 388 thousand of EU funds. The text was republished by SafeNews and tribune.bg under a headline that ironically presents MECH as a fighter against corruption; the author's motives are unknown. 24plovdiv separately confirms the company's link to the daughter and the EU funding, without alleging wrongdoing. No reply from Komitova, prosecution, КПКОНПИ finding or audit was found. No irregularity has been shown. — SafeNews, April 2025
