Corruption and scandals

  • Brawl with PP-DB in the plenary hall. On 1 June 2023, in the 49th National Assembly, a brawl broke out between Vazrazhdane and PP-DB MPs after a declaration by Yavor Bozhankov. In a satirical column signed with a pseudonym, Sega writes that she was filmed banging on the benches: "Kurpacheva was shouting at Bozhankov at the top of her voice – COME ON, WHY ARE YOU HIDING, COME ON" (our translation). The same text says she also agreed to an arm-wrestling duel with him. The video was distributed by Democratic Bulgaria MPs, the other side in the clash. — Sega, 01.06.2023

Other

  • Unpaid adviser to MP Ivelin Parvanov. After failing to win a seat in the 52nd National Assembly at the April 2026 election, she was entered in the parliamentary register as an unpaid adviser to Vazrazhdane MP Ivelin Parvanov, for economy, sport and demography. Sega reports this, noting that the unsuccessful candidates Vladimir Milyovski and Zlatan Zlatanov were entered in the same role. The newspaper criticises the practice of placing unsuccessful candidates as advisers. — Sega, 13.05.2026
