Corruption and scandals
- Tabloid accusation over the sale of a municipal hotel in Borovets. A-specto.bg (Селевкиди Медия) claims that as mayor of Samokov he did not enforce the contract and did not recover about BGN 1 million for the municipal apartment hotel Borovets Gardens, sold in 2013 to Lepsi Borovets Resort Properties. According to the site, the hotel keeps operating without the municipality being paid, and „във фирмата се повява руски съсобственик, а също и офшорна компания от Белиз“ (our translation: "a Russian co-owner appears in the firm, and also an offshore company from Belize"). The co-owner is not named, and no link between him and the mayor is shown. The article cites an audit by Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva of the Smetna palata, which could not be found, and says the Property Register shows no change of ownership.
