• Lukoil. In March 2026 he said in the lobby of parliament that Lukoil sells fuel bought cheaply at a high price, and demanded that "NAP and KZK, using their powers under the law, make sure this speculation ends immediately" (our translation). Corruption and scandals

• The customs case. On 30.04.2025, the day the Plovdiv customs director Miroslav Belyashki was arrested, Nova TV reported, citing unofficial information, that the possible involvement of "a PP-DB MP elected from Plovdiv" (our translation) in the smuggling channel of Nikola Nikolov-Paskal was being checked. According to Club Z, websites named Ivanov as that MP, and the "link" consisted of a photo of him with Belyashki at a public event. Ivanov denies it: "My name was dragged into today's operation to arrest the director of the Plovdiv customs office in the ugliest way. Without a single fact, without a single piece of evidence, without an ounce of truth in what was written" (our translation). He says he has known Belyashki since 2015, that the photo is from the charity ball of the Bulgarian School of Politics, and that "nobody has summoned me for questioning" (our translation). — News.bg, 30.04.2025; Club Z, 30.04.2025, clubz.bg
• The Maritsa contract. In April 2021 the Democratic Bulgaria municipal councillors in Plovdiv, Ivanov among them, demanded that mayor Zdravko Dimitrov cancel the "direct negotiation" procedure for cleaning the Maritsa riverbed for BGN 4.9 million. Ivanov asked: "What is the mayor's basis for requesting, in mid-April, direct negotiation with a big Plovdiv firm for almost BGN 5 million excluding VAT?" (our translation). — 24 Chasa, 20.04.2021
