- Dispute over councillors' pay. As regional governor she sends back for reconsideration the decision by which the Dobrich councillors almost doubled their pay at the session of 30 January, news.bg reports, citing BNR. In her view the change to the council's rules of procedure is unlawful: it was adopted without reasons in the report of the chair of the Temporary Committee, and the total remuneration exceeds the threshold in the Local Self-Government and Local Authority Act. The councillors adopted 55% of the council chair's salary (40% for sittings and 15% for committees) plus an extra 30% for an extraordinary session, which by her count makes 71.5 per cent. — News.bg, 12.02.2024
