In Decision No. 199 of 16.03.2011 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) the Dossier Commission announces the career of Chavdar Demirov Borachev, born on 24.05.1948 in Varna: on 31.08.1974 he was appointed junior operative, on 16.10.1981 he became intelligence officer grade V, and his last reassignment, again to that post, dates from 15.09.1989. The same was announced in Decisions No. 2-2399 and No. 2-2400 of 28.05.2024 and No. 3-69 of 07.04.2026, when he stood for the National Assembly and the European Parliament. Anton Todorov in Faktor.bg (2016) presents him as chairman of the board of the Association of Military Intelligence Officers and writes that his father, Demir Dimitrov Borachev, was sentenced to death in the trial of the Shumen military conspiracy, and later commanded the Second Army, became deputy chief of the General Staff and head of the Administrative Organs department of the BKP Central Committee. The MP was born on 01.10.1972 in Shumen; his patronymic is Georgiev. We found no source linking his family to the general's.
